Introduction to Hex Bolt

2024-05-08

Hexagonal bolt: A type of fastener consisting of a head and a screw (a cylinder with external threads). It needs to be matched with a nut and is used to fasten two parts with through holes.

This type of connection is called a bolt connection. If the nut is unscrewed from the bolt, the two parts can be separated, so the bolt connection is a detachable connection.

Hexagonal bolt Classification

1. According to the force-bearing method of the connection, there are ordinary ones and those with reamed holes. The bolts used to ream the holes should match the size of the holes and be used when subjected to lateral forces.

2. According to the shape of the head, there are hexagonal head, round head, square head, countersunk head, etc. Generally, the countersunk head is used in places where the surface after connection is required to be smooth and without protrusions, because the countersunk head can be screwed into the part. The round head can also be screwed into the part. The tightening force of the square head can be greater, but the size is large. The hexagonal head bolt is the most commonly used.
